After Storm Freya affects the UK Sunday and early Monday, there is more unsettled weather expected through the week. Here is the forecast | Met Office

High pressure remains in charge this week with the temperatures warming up on Saturday and Sunday. The weather will turn cooler from the far north-west later Sunday so not a great day UK wide, though for England and Wales a warm and mainly settled day is to be expected. Come Monday the weather will be much cooler as the colder air filters down from the north with showers wintry across the highest ground of Scotland. So make the most of the weather this weekend! New research conducted by Met Office Hadley Centre scientists has found that record breaking temperatures, exceeding the 2018 UK summer temperature, are becoming more likely due to climate change. They found that in the current climate there is an approximate 11% chance of exceeding those record temperatures each year and a steep increase over the past two decades as shown in the graph.
