Former stage, screen and television actress June Lockhart died at age 100 on Thursday at her Santa Monica, Calif., home, her family announced on Saturday.

The actor, whose career spanned films, TV dramas and soap operas, was beloved for her roles in "Lassie" and "Lost In Space." She died on Thursday of natural causes, a family friend said.

She exuded earnest maternal wisdom and wistful contentment as a farm wife on “Lassie” and, later, as an interplanetary castaway on “Lost in Space.”

A Tony Award winner and daughter of actor Gene Lockhart, she also starred in 'Meet Me in St. Louis' and 'Petticoat Junction.'
